This is the jewel in the crown of the range. Our master papermakers manufacture this acid free 100% cotton rag watercolour paper in the old-fashioned way, adhering strictly to traditional techniques. Manufactured on a cylinder mould and surface sized, working with this paper makes every watercolour moment a real pleasure.

Rough finish paper has an effect close to that of handmade paper, with a strongly pronounced tooth that naturally shows lots of texture in painting and highlights the effects of granulating colors. It’s ideally suited for bold, expressive techniques rather than detail. Rough Press is also recommended for acrylics, pastels, and charcoal.
